Pyrotechnic Safety Instructions
Read in full before use. These instructions form part of the contract and of the product documentation.
1. Legal classification
QuietBlast pyrotechnic articles are category F1 under Directive 2013/29/EU and the German 1. SprengV. They may be acquired, possessed and used by persons aged 18 and over. Handing them over to minors is a criminal offence. National rules in Austria, Switzerland and other EU states may differ — you are responsible for compliance at your location.
2. Before use
- Obtain the site operator's permission. Site rules always take precedence over these instructions.
- Inspect the article for damage. Never use a damaged, deformed or previously activated unit.
- Ensure all persons in the area wear certified eye protection.
- Confirm the deployment area is free of persons at close range, of flammable material and of animals.
3. Handling
- Hold the lever firmly against the body before removing the safety ring.
- After releasing the lever the delay is 3–5 seconds. Throw immediately — never hold or "cook".
- Minimum throwing distance: 5 metres. Never throw at a person, at the head, or into confined voids.
- Never modify, disassemble, drill, heat or reload the article.
4. Misfire
If the article does not function, wait at least 15 minutes before approaching. Do not attempt to re-ignite. Immerse the unit in water for 24 hours, then dispose of it as described below.
5. Storage and transport
Store dry, below 30 °C, out of reach of children and away from ignition sources. Keep in the original packaging. Transport in the vehicle boot only; never carry loose or in a pocket. Do not send by parcel post — return shipments require a hazardous-goods declaration.
6. Disposal
Deactivate used or defective articles by immersion in water for 24 hours and dispose of them via residual waste, or hand them to a municipal hazardous-waste collection point.
7. Disclaimer
Any use contrary to these instructions voids all warranty and liability claims. Pyrotechnic articles are not toys.
